The United Center lets you in with a purse or personal bag up to 10 × 6 × 2 inches, and refuses backpacks and every other bag. The arena opened in August 1994 at 1901 W. Madison Street and is home to the Bulls and the Blackhawks.
Bags and lockers
The limit is 10 × 6 × 2 inches, roughly a clutch or small crossbody. If you arrive with more, Binbox lockers and bag check are in the Uber Zone near Madison Street and Wood Street.
Gates, re-entry and kids
Gates generally open 90 minutes before events and games. Re-entry is not allowed. The arena is fully cashless: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and cards. At Bulls, Blackhawks and Feld Entertainment shows, children under 36 inches get in free on an adult's lap; at concerts everyone needs a ticket.
Getting there
The Green Line stops at Damen and at Ashland/Lake, each a few blocks from the arena, and the Blue Line's Illinois Medical District stop is a few blocks north. Buses #9, #20, #50 and #126 run nearby. After events the CTA runs the #19 United Center Express to Union Station, downtown and Michigan Avenue.
Parking lots open 2.5 hours before events. The arena sells advance parking through Ticketmaster at a discount and doesn't publish prices on its site. The rideshare zone is at Madison and Wood (Lot E).
Tickets
The United Center guarantees only tickets bought through its own box office, unitedcenter.com or Ticketmaster; it warns that tickets from other sources may not be honored. TicketNetwork's guarantee promises valid tickets; if a venue refuses one anyway, the remedy is a refund.
